RIBERA: A NEW MATERIAL IS BORN FROM THE WASTE OF ORANGES

THE NEW FRONTIER OF SUSTAINABLE LUXURY BY ARKIMEDIA IS CALLED RIBERA

What if a sustainable, resistant and customizable material such as leather is obtained from the residues of the industrial pressing of oranges?

RIBERA takes its name from the city of oranges in Sicily, a small Sicilian village where citrus fruits have found their natural habitat. A triumph of colors, aromas and flavors, an inexhaustible source of precious properties and benefits. But not only.

Today it is possible to produce ecological materials of excellent quality with the reuse of oranges, providing the world of fashion with a new alternative to leather.

From fruit scraps to fashion. Can it be?

Through the recovery of orange waste and in particular of the peels, a new material is born, with high performance and customizable.

A valid alternative to leather that can be used for watch straps, belts, bags and the whole world of accessories and clothing.

A vegan, cruelty free and eco-friendly choice that allowed us to reuse pastazzo (the orange waste), which until recently was considered only as waste.

1.  The waste resulting from the pressing of oranges represents both an environmental and an economic cost for farmers. But they can become the seed of the new luxury;

2.  The second phase consists of the patented process of extracting the polymer from the by-products of the food and cosmetic industry. A step that closes the circular economy process thanks to which waste becomes a resource;

3.  The biopolymer is transformed into a new material;

4.  The result is a new product for the world of fashion, automotive and interior design

By respecting the principles of circular economy, our process does not generate waste and, above all, does not require any consumption of new soil.
